I have not had a chance to use this service yet, but with the holidays around the corner, I’m sure I’ll use it in the near future! Restaurant.com offers gift certificates at a reduced rate. And frequently, they offer specials, like today, where you can get the certificates even cheaper!
22 Restaurants came up in a 25 mile radius from 22546 in Caroline County!
When I used the discount TASTE today, my $38 bill for the certificates went down to $7.60.
Now there are stipulations for each certificate. You need to read these carefully! Because some of them will be more like a coupon than a good discount. I found that the average for using a $25 certificate means you need to spend $35 and your gratuity is included before the discount so you don’t cheat your server!
So here’s an example:
I go to Bridges Brick Oven. I buy $37 worth of food (without alcohol in this case). My tip is around $7. My total is $44. I use my $25 gift certificate. I pay $19.
If I paid full price for the certificate, then the meal total is $29. BUT if I order my coupons during the 80% specials, then my total was only $21. And I paid for it in 2 different installments – which always makes it seem cheaper!
Is it worth it? Is there a restaurant you wanted to try? This might be the incentive you needed. Is there a restaurant you visit regularly? It may be on the list. You decide.
